P155 CEEFAX 155 Fri 26 Feb 21:02/25 1/2 WORLD US BOSNIA AIRDROP GETS GO-AHEAD The US defence department has issued an execute order authorising the start of an airdrop of relief supplies to the people of Bosnia. A Pentagon official told the BBC it was now up to the operations commander to decide when the airdrop should begin. The dropping of some 600,000 leaflets warning the population of the aid airdrop could take place tonight, with the parachute drops of food and medicine likely to go ahead on Sunday. P155 CEEFAX 155 Fri 26 Feb 21:01/40 2/2 WORLD NATO DISCUSSES US AIRDROP PLAN Nato foreign ministers have discussed the US plan to drop aid supplies by parachute to besieged communities in Bosnia. US Secretary of State Warren Christopher said he had been encouraged by Nato's response. Others were already doing much and he had not asked them to take part. Germany offered to take on more aid flights to Sarajevo, and Turkey offered planes and supplies, but other ministers gave only broad support for the airdrop plan.
