Menzies Campbell said somj aspects of the conference organisation were not subject to "checks and balances" from the party leadership He said: "I think that's something we'll probably have to look at". "The press has been given an excuse to concentrate on issues normally dealt with at fringe meetings," said councillor Paul Weller. But Mr Weller said the press was guilty of ignoring the party's recent successes and its policies.
