Cut bread into quarters and soak in the egg and milk mixture until absorbed. Heat the butter in a large frying pan and fry the bread until golden on both sides. Add 1 tbl golden syrup and cook for 2 minutes. Put bread onto a warm serving plate. Put remaining syrup and sultanas into pan, heat until warm and pour over bread.
