It also seems to have rendered them thickos. The stupidheroes use their new powers for nothing more worthwhile than preventing some firemen from dying in a traffic accident... which THEY caused. The effects, mainly consisting of some huge, obvious explosions, are nothing special either. Jessica Alba and her low cut tops will keep the lads happy, Welshman Ioan Gruffudd is likeable and Chiklis is good but too reminiscent of other superhero performances, like Hellboy's Ron Perlman, to stand out. It might be average but the marketing campaign and US box office opening were so successful that two sequels are already in the works.
