The four-year-old kept on well to beat debutant Netherby Said by 1½L. Winning trainer Malcolm Jefferson said: "He's a brave horse and never runs a bad race over hurdles. P385 CEEFAX 385 Thu 13 Jan 21:11/12  2/8  WETHERBY REVIEW:  CONCERT HITS RIGHT NOTE  Seven-pound claimer Keith Davies gained his first win under Rules and Concert Paper his first chase success when capturing the Wike Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Chase The 16/1 chance, wearing a visor for the first time, stayed on well under pressure to beat River Bounty by twenty five lengths. Davies revealed afterwards that: "We thought that he was going to be a maiden over fences all his life. "This win is down to the owner, Steve Hammond, who has persevered with him and kept faith in him. P385 CEEFAX 385 Thu 13 Jan 21:11/29  4/8  WETHERBY REVIEW:  RANGER GAINS COMPENSATION  Clyde Ranger, who easily "won" the recent void race at Kelso, gained a deserved victory in the Collingham Novices' Chase under Chris Grant. His task was made easier when his market rival Brackenfield unseated his rider and he was never in any danger from that point onwards. Winning trainer Micky Hammond said: "He's an improved jumper and this was a deserved success bearing in mind Kelso. She shot clear three flights from home to give a welcome boost to the Reveley yard. Mrs Reveley's son Keith explained: "We have had the cough for the last month and it has been frustrating but hopefully this has shown that they are on the way back. P385 CEEFAX 385 Thu 13 Jan 21:52/28  6/8  WETHERBY REVIEW:  BRENNANS' IMPRESSIVE WIN  The feature Keswick Handicap Chase went to the Owen and Martin Brennan partnership with Threeoutoffour. This was only the nine-year-old's second run in a handicap chase but he put his rivals firmly in their place with an impressive display. Merry Master and Gee Armytage had made a brave bid to make all but Threeoutoffour cruised past them in the straight to win by 12L. "I thought he jumped very well for a novice today against seasoned handicappers but he was getting a lot of weight from the top two. The Le Moss gelding has proved expensive to follow in his five previous runs but he never gave his supporters a moment's worry here as he beat Ali's Alibi by 20L. Locally-based owner Ian Bray, who had also won earlier with Clyde Ranger, said: "This is the happiest day of my life", whilst the winning trainer commented that: "He quickened up really well and is a real racehorse.
