Things were made easier for Scu' when his two challengers, Gandouge Glen and Bally Clover, both made a hash of the last flight. Although Richard Dunwoody had to settle for second place on this occasion he will be consoled by the compliment paid to Hebridean. Hebridean gave 2lbs and a 14 length beating to Grand Hawk last time out at Huntingdon. Source:William HILL Organisation Ltd StratRevw Hayd Revw SouthRevw Eve Dog

However it was Sheer Jest who found the better jump at the penultimate obstacle and it proved decisive. He maintained the advantage over Seven Of Diamonds in a style that singles him out as one to follow. However owner Bill Warner will be patient and bypass the Foxhunters' at Cheltenham, saying:"I don't want to chuck him in the deep end yet." He was always travelling smoothly for Mark Perrett and the pair took up the running between the last two before going away for a smooth win. This was his first attempt at three miles over fences and with his turn of foot he must have an outstanding chance of following up. Mick Fitzgerald justified his journey to Kempton when gaining a hard-fought win on Factor Ten. Source: William HILL Organization Ltd StratRevw Hayd Revw SouthRevw Eve Dog

The former's jumping has looked to be vulnerable recently but there were no such alarms today as he strode home from Coole Dodger. The win on Yellow Spring was altogether less straightforward but Hobbs' injection of pace on the home turn proved to be decisive. A late challenge from Marlin Dancer looked a threat but Yellow Spring held on for a 2½ length verdict. Source: William HILL Organization Ltd StratRevw Hayd Revw SouthRevw Eve Dog
