P388 CEEFAX 388 Fri 26 Feb 21:11/22 1/4 SOUTHWELL REVIEW: MACKAY SHINES Hershebar, oho lost his maiden tag at Southwell last Monday, followed up in the Wellow Claiming Stakes. Always travelling well for Ollie Pears, the three-year-old son of Stanford easily came clear of his field, being eased down at the line Mentalasanythin was given a great ride by Allan Mackay to take the Thurgaton Handicap over a mile. Racing to the front two out, Allan Bailey's charge got first run on market rival No Submission and he held a clear advantage to the line. P388 CEEFAX 388 Fri 26 Feb 21:22/51 2/4 SOUTHWELL REVIEW FAIR LANDS REAL TOUCH Michael Bell's Green's Fair had little trouble in landing the Claypole Maiden Stakes. In doing so the daughter of Carmelite House landed a gamble, being backed from 8-11 to 4-9. Michael Hills always had his mount to the fore and they quickened well clear with two furlongs to run to score by an impressive six lengths. There was certainly much to like about this performance and Green's Fair is clearly an improving filly oho is in fine form at present. P388 CEEFAX 388 Fri 26 Feb 21:11/14 3/4 SOUTHWELL REVIEW: MAROWINS BATTLES ON Marowins showed plenty of courage to take the Besthorpe Maiden Stakes Eric Alston's charge went to the front with a furlong to run and he was immediately surrounded by a host of would-be challengers. The most determined bid came from Black Boy who finished strongly on the inside rail but Marowins held on gamely for a head success. Another to finish with great effect was Robin Bastiman's Speed Oil, who eventually finished third, after making ground from the rear. P388 CEEFAX 388 Fri 26 Feb 21:11/58 4/4 SOUTHWELL REVIEW: FOUR-TIMER FOR HORIZON Lindsay Charnock and Prime Mover just proved too strong for Lord Naskra and Brisas in a thrilling finish to the Ravenshead Handicap. The judge called for a three-way photo finish which revealed that Prime Mover had held on by a neck, from Emma O'Gorman and Lord Naskra. Horizon took his fourth handicap at Southwell this month when winning the Skedby Handicap under a fine ride from Darren Biggs. Tim Thomson Jones' charge led early and he was never really challenged beating Coleridge by eight lengths. Source:William HILL Organization Ltd CourseDet Hayd Revw Kemp Revw StratRevw
