A spokesman said there had been a smallleak in a water pipe in the cooling system, and that the station would resume operation next week. He told UNIAN news agency that there had been no escape of radiation, and that staff had not been in any danger. The protesters say half of Europe's soya imports are US, and 55% of US soyais genetically-modified. Greenpeace timed the protest to coincide with the World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle.
